Founder of the San Carlos Medical Clinic
Andrew Dorian Dalid Yakushevich, M.D., was born in Moscow, USSR, in 1960.After his primary education was complete he was drafted into the Soviet Army, and served two years in the Special Forces.
After honorable discharge from the Soviet Army in 1980 he was accepted by the prestigious First Moscow State Medical University.Founded in 1758, the First Moscow State Medical University was, at the time of his graduation, ranked the 2nd best medical school in the world, only trailing the University of Paris Medical School.
While at university he worked as a nurse in the surgical department, and then as a Physicians Assistant for the ambulance division of the City of Moscow Emergency Medical Services, the best rapid-response medical service in the Soviet Union.
After graduating First Moscow State Medical University in 1987 and receiving his Medical Doctorate, Doctor Yakushevich entered and graduated from the the Surgical Residency Program.
A part of the Surgical Residency Program was an Emergency Physician Training Program where he got extensive experience, once again, with the ambulance division acting as an emergency medicine physician and first medical responder -- experience that still informs his medical practice and responses to the needs of patients in need of time-critical emergency medical care.
Doctor Yakushevich later worked for the City of Moscow Teaching Hospital #68 as a staff surgeon, and also taught surgery at the university nursing school.
In 1991 he emigrated with his wife Alena, a certified nurse, to the United States.
He rapidly became Clinical Medical Research Coordinator at a clinical research company in Tucson and also served as a professor of anatomy and physiology for the Pima Community College Nursing Program.
During this period Dr. Yakushevich passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) exams and became Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certified.In 2005 he and his wife emigrated to Mexico, settling in Hermosillo, Sonora. After completing a Mexican clinical internship he received a Mexican Medical License in 2007 (click on the image to the right to view cedula profesional number 5249033), opened a medical office in Hermosillo, and worked as Chief of Emergency Services for a hospital.
Doctor Yakushevich subsequently moved to San Carlos and opened the San Carlos Medical Clinic, the finest medical clinic in Greater San Carlos / Guaymas.

He has studied various forms of Eastern medical practice since his days in medical school in the 1980s, and is sensitive to the wishes of patients who seek to combine their use of Eastern medical practices with Western treatments. Dr. Yakushevich is a PADI certified dive master and is familiar with dive medicine. He performs dive physicals and treats diving-related injuries at Medical Clinic San Carlos.He is also an ardent believer in continuing education -- particularly medical education -- and is constantly improving his knowledge of the latest medical tools, techniques and medications that can benefit his patients.
In addition to his medical degrees and certifications, Dr. Yakushevich also holds an MBA from Troy State University and a Master of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, formerly The American Graduate School of International Management.
